Bitcoin Mountain is a self-sustaining community in El Salvador, harnessing Bitcoin and regenerative agriculture to break the cycle of poverty. We empower individuals with financial freedom, sustainable jobs, education, and holistic wellness—redefining development and uplifting lives.

The Story

Bitcoin Mountain is co-founded by Aaron Murphy, founder of Murphslife Foundation as an initiative to bring a circular economy as demonstrated by our friends Bitcoin Beach to the beautiful mountains of El Salvador.

The Origin

It all started with a hot-dog stand. Trapped in Ecuador during the pandemic with only $200, Aaron Murphy gave his last resources to a family in need, purchasing them a hot-dog stand and teaching them how to operate it.

The Movement

This act gained attention on social media, leading to worldwide donations. Murphy realized the importance of addressing root causes of poverty rather than temporary relief, establishing the MurphsLife movement.

The Impact

Today, Murphslife Foundation has achieved:

  • • Support from 15+ countries
  • • $10M+ donated to the cause
  • • 1000+ families lifted from poverty

Bitcoin Mountain

Building on this success, Bitcoin Mountain was established in Los Naranjos, El Salvador, as a model for sustainable community development through Bitcoin adoption and regenerative practices.
